Know moreA year ago, on October 2019, Balanças Marques, once again, made it to the list of the “100 best companies to work in Portugal”. We then conquered the eighth place on the ranking sorted by Exame Magazine.
In 2020, there wasn’t a new edition, but, according to our employees, we are still on top, offering a workplace where there are all sorts of reasons to feel motivated and happy.
There would be a lot to say to explain the motive behind Balanças Marques’ – and Grupo José Pimenta Marques’ – presence among the “100 best companies to work in Portugal”, for two year in a row. We could start by highlighting the group’s family values. We could talk about the multiple benefits we offer to our employees: the day off on their birthday, the prize for the birth of a child, the offer of fruit and water on a daily basis and a school kit for their kids. But these things, for themselves, are not enough to define us.
So, today, we will give the spotlight to those who are really a part of all this, to those who work to make success a reality for us. We give the spotlight to our employees, for them to tell us what makes Balanças Marques such a good place to work.
• The opportunities
Daniel Martins has been working with us since 2004. He recalls us that, when he got here, he was still “a young boy” that “could never predict what would happen”. Over the years, he was a production and assembling assistant, a support and lab technician, and today is on our commercial department. “This family bet on me, gave me the opportunity to learn and grow each day further”, he tells. And, for him, it’s that possibility of growth and learning that distinguishes Balanças Marques.
• The support
Ana Paula Costa is one of our administrative technicians. Besides organizing our accounts and bills, she recently embraced another mission with weight: she became a mother. When her daughter was born, as other employees, she received Balanças Marques birth prize. And her “thank you” to the company is mostly due to its support – not just the financial one. “To me the most important is exactly the 500 euros I got. The importante thing is to know that my employer was happy for me and supports me”, she explains.
• Each incentive
Bruno Silva is one of the faces (and voices) of our Customer Support Department. When asked to talk about the company where he works, he can’t highlight just one aspect. For him, it’s a group of little things that make the difference: the weekly gym classes, Family Day, the prize for the birth of a child (which he already got). “Any of these incentives bring us quality of life, whether on a personal or professional level, and it reflects on the performance of each person of their job”, the concludes.
