“Dear Santa,
Another trip around the sun has gone by in a flash and we’re back at your season of the year. And what a year! 2021 started with distancing and then brought us some moments that felt like returning to normality, but it ends without the much-awaited Family Christmas dinner. And, despite this roller coaster, here at Balanças Marques, we don’t have a long wish list – we just want to thank you for all the ups of the past months.
Because 2021 was, without a doubt, challenging, but each day we were able to prove what we are capable to overcome all the obstacles and add up more achievements. So, we can only feel grateful for everything we’ve accomplished and for everything that allows us to do it. This is:
- For the tittle of Best Weighing Company in the world (and best weighbridge, best commercial scale, and best weighing software).
In a year that brought lockdowns, distance, and all kinds of challenges to our daily work, we could state, once again, that we count on the trust of our public. For the second time, Balanças Marques was the winner of the title of World’s Best Weighing Company, at the Weighing Review Awards. And our PCM M1500e weighbridge, and our BM5 ARM commercial scale, and our weighing software ETPOS were also winners in their categories. Which for us is, above all, an extra shot of motivation to keep adding value to the weighing sector and developing the solutions that our clients need.
- For the dedication and creativity of our employees.
2021 was the year of the increase of iron’s price, the shortage of semiconductors and the growth of costs in the goods transport. A situation that had a big impact on the weighing sector and that brought us many challenges. But Balanças Marques team was up to each one of them. Our employees have shown the fiber that are made of and got down to work to adapt us in the best way to the new context provided by the pandemic. It was their dedication and creativity that made it possible for us to end the year with a mainly positive balance and fulfilled goals.

Despite some moments that felt like we were returning to normal, 2021 imposed, again, masks and distancing. Although we had other plans and dreams, this was not the year of our reunion at the Christmas dinner of the Grupo José Pimenta Marques Family. But not even that was enough to defeat us. Because, even at distance, we kept the bonds that unite us. We continued to celebrate each birthday, each special date, each conquer – either by social media, Zoom or Teams. We continue to work together to weigh a new world and waiting that the future holds more occasions to gather all the Family.
Thank you, Santa, for all this – for each detail that cheered the days at Balanças Maques in 2021 and that contributed to look back with pride and motivation to face a new year.
